What It Is

robot.wtf is a persistent-memory Wiki built for AI Agents. Each Wiki is implemented as a Git repository, with content stored as Markdown files. It also provides a web interface for humans to browse and edit pages, while exposing an MCP endpoint so compatible clients such as Claude.ai, Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf can directly read and write the same pages, history, and links.

Core Capabilities

Its core value is not a generative model, but an “Agent memory layer.” The MCP service supports creating, editing, updating, and deleting pages, as well as partial reads and incremental writes, making it useful for Agents to retain context across long-running tasks or multi-turn projects. For search, it offers both keyword search and semantic search, which is suitable for retrieving knowledge across an entire Wiki. Each Wiki can be git cloned, giving its data better readability and portability than many closed memory stores. However, the main documentation does not specify which model is used for semantic search, how indexing works, capacity limits, or performance boundaries.

Pricing and Privacy

The official site states clearly that the service is currently free and run as a volunteer project for the ATProto/Bluesky community. There are no paid tiers, ads, or data collection. On privacy, Wikis are private by default and can only be accessed by the user and explicitly invited people. The MCP endpoint is authenticated via OAuth or Bearer Token, server-side data is encrypted at rest, and the official claim is that user private data is neither read nor used.

Pros and Cons

The main advantage is that the design fits MCP Agent workflows very well: humans and Agents use the same Wiki, with no need for syncing, exporting, or extra integrations. Markdown and Git also make the content controllable over the long term. The downsides are that it depends on clients that support the MCP Streamable HTTP transport and requires a Bluesky account to log in. As a volunteer project, it also lacks an SLA, enterprise support, and clear documentation on capacity or compliance.

Who It’s For and Access from China

robot.wtf is best suited to developers and heavy AI users already using Claude Code, Claude.ai, Cursor, or Windsurf who want to give their Agent a shared long-term memory store. Access from mainland China is not disclosed in the main documentation, and related tools such as Claude may themselves be restricted in China. Payment is not currently an issue because the service is free. Alternatives include Obsidian, Notion, GitBook, Outline, or a self-hosted vector database / Dify knowledge base.
