pqb.sk is the official website for the Poster Quadrennial Bardejov 2025, an international poster exhibition held in Slovakia. Its core purpose is to release the competition guidelines for this international poster design contest, and open registrations to eligible creators worldwide. The competition offers two tracks: an open theme and an environmental theme, so creators can freely choose their direction of entry. All submitted works must have been created between 2021 and 2024.
This competition is open to all creators aged 18 and over, with a limit of up to 3 entries per person, and there is no registration fee to enter. Participants must submit both a physical printed B1-size poster mailed to a designated address in Slovakia, and a high-resolution digital version of the poster sent to the official email. The submission deadline is March 31, 2025, and the postmark date will be used as the official date of receipt. Works are judged by a 7-member professional jury, and multiple prizes are awarded including a Grand Prix, placed awards, and honorable mentions. All selected works are included in the official competition collection and archived in the event's permanent archive.
This event is open to creators worldwide with no restrictive eligibility requirements, its theme selection balances creators' freedom of expression and the public topic of environmental protection, its rules are clear and transparent, and it holds high professional recognition.
The disadvantage is very obvious: the requirement to mail a large-format physical poster means that for creators based outside of Europe, such as those in China, shipping costs are very high. The organizer does not cover customs clearance fees or take responsibility for damage in transit, so the actual entry barrier is quite high. Additionally, the website only offers content in English and Slovak, with no Chinese language support.
This website is only suitable for professional Chinese graphic designers and design students who already plan to participate and can afford the cost of physical shipping. Chinese users can access the website directly to check the full competition rules.
