Basic Introduction

This website is the official site of The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) of Calgary, Canada. It's a local non-profit charity focused on serving new immigrants. Centered around the various needs of new immigrants integrating into Canadian society, it provides one-stop services ranging from language learning to employment, settlement, mental health support and more. To date, it has served over 380,000 clients, and is one of the core organizations in Calgary's immigrant services sector.

Core Services & Pricing

TIES' core services are divided into five main categories:

• English language learning offers in-person, online, hybrid and other course formats, covering all levels from basic literacy to workplace English. Eligible new immigrants can participate for free;
• Employment skills training covers multiple specialized fields including administration, logistics, early childhood education, security, accounting, entrepreneurship and more. Most programs are open to permanent residents and refugees free of charge;
• It also provides complementary settlement navigation, financial literacy education, free confidential counseling, free childcare for enrolled students, in addition to the fee-based full-time childcare program Little Beginnings.

Most core services are free for new immigrants that meet eligibility requirements, only a small number of childcare programs charge affordable fees, keeping overall costs extremely low.
