Graboard is a macOS menu bar clipboard manager positioned around the idea of “Grab everything.” Instead of saving only text, it manages code, links, images, files, SVGs, colors, and screenshots as searchable items. The product is currently in Closed Beta v0.1.0, requires macOS 14.0+, and supports both Apple Silicon and Intel.
Its main strength is multi-type clipboard history combined with local search. Text and code support full-text search, automatic code detection, and syntax highlighting. Images and screenshots use Apple Vision for local OCR, so you can search by text contained inside an image. Screenshots can be captured by region, window, or full screen, then opened in an annotator that can be edited again later. Designers get a particularly useful color module: it can pick colors with the system magnifier, show WCAG contrast, generate tints/shades, and convert between formats such as hex, rgb, hsl, and oklch. On the paste side, it supports global hotkeys, keyboard navigation, Share Sheet, and pasting by format or attribute.
The free plan is quite generous: $0 forever, with no account, no telemetry, unlimited history, local OCR, screenshots, annotations, color tools, and manual export. Pro is listed at $5/month or $50/year, and Family at $10/month or $100/year, but both are marked Coming soon. The planned Pro features include end-to-end encrypted sync across Macs, cloud backup, AI actions, cloud share links, CLI, Apple Shortcuts, and priority support. Family supports up to 6 Apple IDs and a shared vault.
The biggest advantage is its very clear local-first and privacy-focused positioning: the free version does not connect to Graboard servers, content is stored on the local machine, sensitive clipboard types are skipped automatically, and cloud features must be explicitly enabled per device. Feature-wise, it brings clipboard management, screenshots, OCR, colors, and code snippets together in a fairly complete package. The drawbacks are also clear: it is still in closed beta, the documentation is still being written, and both stability and roadmap certainty remain open questions. Pro cloud and AI features are not officially available yet. There is also no visible mention of enterprise-grade SSO, permissions, audit logs, or compliance certifications.
Graboard is better suited to Mac developers, designers, content creators, and knowledge workers who copy and paste frequently, rather than being a traditional enterprise SaaS product. The source material does not provide information about access from China, and Mac App Store purchase availability or Apple ID subscription support will depend on the actual region. If you need alternatives, you can compare it with Paste, Raycast Clipboard History, Maccy, Alfred Clipboard History, CleanClip, and similar tools.
