Selekt is an online proofing tool for photographers, videographers, and small visual-production studios. Its main goal is to consolidate client feedback that would otherwise be scattered across WhatsApp, email, forms, and other channels into a single gallery. Clients can access the gallery via a shared link without creating an account, and leave structured comments directly on photos or videos.
For photo workflows, Selekt offers 1–5 star ratings, color labels, clear one-click selections, and the ability to add pinned comments to specific areas of an image. This helps reduce ambiguity such as “was it photo 47 or 74?” For sharing, it supports private links, password protection, permission controls, and the ability to revoke access at any time. Each reviewer’s ratings are recorded separately rather than blended into an average, making it suitable for projects with multiple reviewers where the feedback source needs to remain clear.
Selekt is currently still in the pre-launch stage, and users can only join the waitlist for early access. According to the official information, no credit card is required, and early users can receive a lifetime discount. However, official pricing, storage limits, project limits, and seat limits have not yet been disclosed. In terms of compatibility, uploads are currently supported via browser drag and drop. A Lightroom Classic plugin is listed as coming soon, with planned support for exporting from Lightroom and syncing client selections, ratings, and color labels back to the catalog. Video proofing has also not launched yet; planned features include timecode comments and LOG-to-Rec.709 preview, covering formats such as S-Log3, V-Log, C-Log, LogC, and N-Log.
The main advantage is its extremely simple workflow: clients do not need to register, which can significantly reduce friction in the feedback process. Ratings, labels, selections, and localized comments cover the key communication needs before photo retouching. Future Lightroom sync-back support could also be very valuable for photographers. The drawbacks are equally clear: the product has not officially launched, and its core plugin and video features have not yet been delivered. There is also insufficient information about pricing, storage, downloads, watermarking, branding, team permissions, and customer support, so its commercial viability still needs to be observed.
Selekt is better suited to wedding, portrait, and commercial photographers, freelance videographers, and small teams that do not want to use heavier platforms such as Frame.io, Pixieset, or ShootProof. The source material does not provide information on access from mainland China, so domain availability, speed, and payment methods are all unknown. If access or payment is restricted, temporary alternatives include using domestic cloud storage plus forms, collaboration through Feishu or WeCom, or design review tools to replace part of the commenting workflow.
