4tu.nl is the official website of the 4TU.Federation in the Netherlands. 4TU is a university alliance formed by four top Dutch technical universities. Its core responsibilities are to coordinate cross-university engineering research within the alliance, advance engineering education reform, accelerate the commercialization and entrepreneurship of academic research outputs, and operate an alumni network covering nearly 250,000 members worldwide. The website integrates all public information on research centers, education programs, startup support, and alumni services under the alliance, and is open to researchers, faculty and students, as well as venture capital institutions.

Core content and open resources

The website's core sections are divided into four categories: Research, Education, Research Commercialization, and News & Events:

• The Research section features more than 10 cross-university research centers, covering a wide range of cutting-edge engineering fields including applied mathematics, energy, materials, and ICT.
• The Education section includes multiple collaborative programs such as doctoral engineering training and engineering outreach for secondary education.
• The Research Commercialization section is the most valuable open content area. 4TU has developed a standardized intellectual property agreement framework for academic spin-off startups, and publicly shares its core agreement principles and license agreement templates for different scenarios completely free of charge. This framework has been adopted by all universities across the Netherlands, and has significantly shortened the negotiation cycle for academic entrepreneurship.
