What It Is

Recircle is a localized digital recycling matching platform launched in Malaysia. Its core mission is to digitize Malaysia's recycling industry, lower the barrier of entry for ordinary people to participate in recycling, and cultivate a nationwide habit of eco-friendly recycling through an incentive mechanism. The platform centers on a mobile app, connecting regular users with recyclable materials on one end, and locally registered licensed recycling providers on the other, enabling both parties to complete transactions.

Core Features & Pricing

Core functions are split between two user groups:

• For individual (C-end) users: You can post recycling requests for over 10 categories of recyclables, including paper, plastic, electronics, car batteries, pre-owned furniture and more. You wait for recycling providers to send quotes, select your preferred offer, and schedule a pickup. After the transaction is completed, you earn corresponding points. Once you hit the minimum point threshold, you can redeem them for cash or gifts. The higher your user level, the faster you accumulate points.
• For business (B-end) recycling providers: You need to register and pass a qualification verification. A minimum top-up of 10 Malaysian Ringgit grants you access to view and quote on nearby recycling requests. The platform charges a 10% commission on every completed transaction.

The entire platform is free for individual C-end users, and only charges transaction commissions to B-end recycling providers.

Pros, Cons & Suitable Use Cases

Advantages: Recircle solves the information asymmetry problem plaguing traditional recycling, simplifies the whole recycling process to just a few taps on a phone, and the cash-redeemable point scheme effectively incentivizes ordinary users to participate, which makes a positive contribution to promoting environmental protection.
Disadvantages: The platform only acts as an information intermediary and does not intervene in transaction disputes. The rights protection of both users and recycling providers relies on the self-discipline of both parties. In addition, the platform currently only serves local Malaysia and does not support other regions yet.

Accessibility from China

The web version of the platform can be accessed directly from China. However, since all its services are targeted exclusively at the Malaysian market, there is no practical use case for users based in China.
